I joined SparkPeople just over a week ago. I've never been objective about my weight - can't remember ever being happy with the way I look. Even so, I never had to "diet" but since I've turned 50, several pounds have begun to add up (also noticed my clothes aren't fitting very good anymore). Like most people I know what I shouldn't do regarding eating but sweets and carbs have always been a weakness (hey, I never had to worry about eating 5 cookies for breakfast before). At the ripe old age of 55 I'm not just worried about not fitting into my clothes but am concerned about my health! My mom died 3 years ago (several months after having open heart surgery) at the age of 77. I still miss her and have so many questions I'd still like to ask her. Well anyways, I just want to be healthy and have as much time with my kids as possible.
