It's that time again folks. Time for a little monthly goal setting, but first an update on July's challenges.
1) Keep up the good eating. Measure of success - being 'in range', on average, for the main four nutrition goals. - Done! One thing I was please with was cholesterol reduction. July was the first time I had kept it in range on average for the whole month! I dont have a cholesterol issue, and hopefully this will ensure it stays that way.
2) Focus on lowering the sodium a bit. I don't think its a problem at the minute but its the only nutrition goal I have yet to master. Measure of success - eat less of it, on average than June. - Done! Considering the amount of food I'm still supposed to eat at my size, I'm pleased that I have reduced this by 1000mg per day on average since April.
3) Increase my exercise to exceed last month. Measure of success - 1 calorie more burn than June will make me happy. - Done! This took an epic 2hr final exercise session today to hit, but I'm pleased I made it, even with a poor business trip week in the middle.
So, good times, good times. It's amazing what you can do with a little bit of focus. I hope yourJuly went well too!
Now, goals for August. This is going to be a tough month for me as I have many disruptions planned, the biggest being me having to return to the UK twice for different weddings. Big eats, lots of travelling and not much room for excuses. excuses, excuses, excuses.
Anyway, my goals are going to be around managing these events this month.
Goal 1) First week coming up, tour to the UK, four day indian wedding. My goal is to get in more exercise than my business trip week to Phoenix. Measure of success: one more calorie burned is good.
Goal 2) First trip: eat within my fat range for that week on average. Measure of success: 1 calorie under is ok, I know its going to be towards the top either way.
Goal 3) Second trip, but tougher, longer trip and no access to gym. Goal is to get in at least some exercise each day. Measure of success: 20mins running or walking each day.
Goal 4) Second trip- eat within my fat range for that week on average. Measure of success: 1 calorie under is ok:- if I achieve this I will be amazed, haha.
