Do you ever think about accomplishments you've made and wonder what led you to those accomplishments? "Keep steadily before you the fact that all true success depends at last upon yourself." Theodore T. Hunger This quote comes to mind when I attempted this AM to beat my original Magic Mile. My original time for the Magic Mile back on June 5th, was 10:26 with a continued run for the whole mile. That was the first time I'd ever done anything like that before, so I was pretty comfortable with that. Well, it's 9 weeks since that MM and we had another shot at a new MM time, so I decided at mile 2 to get that MM started. I pumped it up and went out at a good pace for the duration of the mile. The latter part of the mile I ran out of gas just a bit but ended with an 8:58....holy cow, I haven't run a mile at that pace in a long time. I felt pretty proud of that success. So there you go, that time depended on me keeping up the gusto and pushing through and I did! We continued on with a good run for 5 more miles and to end a good strong 7 miler. I did have some GI issues the last quarter mile and high tailed it to the local BK to do what I needed to. I sprinted in with a 7:25 mile....teehee!!!
Came home, took an ice shower, drank my usual juicer juice, took a 2 hr. nap. Ahhhh, refreshed and ready to have a nice shopping day. I have to tell you what a great day this has been. I picked up one of my best girlfriends, Kena and we headed first to the local Farmers Market in Rockwall on the Square. Being a Pescotarian, I love Farmers Markets!!!
I really racked up on some veggies and it made me happy. Lots of small potatoes, zucchini, yellow squash, cukes, tomatoes, yellow, orange and red peppers blackberries, and watermelon. YUM! Once we were done stocking up on veggies, we headed over to a wonderful cafe for lunch, Zavata's, where all of their menu is organic. I had their Veggie sandwich with eggplant, portabello mushrooms, roasted red peppers, zucchini and goat cheese on an awesome sea salt ciabatta bun w/a wonderful fruit salad. So now, our tummies are full and we have done our veggie shopping, it is so time to head to all the little local shops and boutiques and shop. I bought the most awesome leather fringed bolero jacket (I know, it's 101 degrees outside) but I couldn't pass up a deal. I ended up with some pretty pieces of jewelry too. Then we headed back to her house to unload and headed back into town to visit a boutique that a friend of mine just recently opened. OMG, it was her Grand Opening day and we found all kinds of bargains and even won a door prize!
Fun stuff all day long. To top off the day, my hubby has grilled us a beautiful Red Fish filet with cilantro corn on the cob and I will have a glass of my favorite wine.
There is nothing better than starting my day with a successful run and ending with a relaxing evening with my DH!
I will blog more about my run tomorrow. This was just a kind of brief synopsis of a great day!!!
