Hi Sparkers!
Well, I have been in a plateau with my weight for this entire month even though I am eating within my calorie range and exercising regularly. I am not overstressed over it and am just plain happy the scale hasn't inched its way back up. My healthy habits are in line and I enjoy living this way. Plus I know I am way more active this summer than any other one for quite some time. This has been due to the North Carolina heat and humidity where I usually become, Well - a Lump. Thanks to Spark People I figured out my purpose and focus and have stayed consistent and motivated to reach those goals.
So, here I am searching through articles and blogs looking for ways to break the plateau. I read from a fellow Sparker about the Wii game Gold's Gym Cardio Workout and how she found a deal on it at WALMART. Well, when I've made it to WALMART I've looked in their bargain bins for Wii games marked down to $19.95 and I have seen it in the piles. I didn't buy when I first saw it since I wanted to use it as a reward motivation when I reached a goal. Well, the scale isn't moving but I've continued to stay consistent with my food tracking, staying in calorie range, and really working on doing my exercising. Then there has been me getting out my safety zone and trying for that driver's license-FINALLY. I figured its time for a reward

so my hubby bought me the Gold's Gym Cardio Workout Wii game to celebrate my determination to go for my goals. I know I've got to do some more mixing up in my exercise routines to get the body confused and working harder.
Today, I woke up with no motivation and was grateful for it being my REST day. Yet, I couldn't stand not having any motivation at all to move since its the last day of July and I've been determined "To Make It Happen" each and every day this summer. So, I decided to unwrap the Wii game and give it a go. First off you have to know I try and walk between 2 to 4 miles each day as my aerobic walks.

Then I add to that 2 walks with the dogs for 1 mile each time.

Usually after I plug that data into my fitness tracker here on SparkPeople I still feel motivated to move so I will do either a fitness cardio dvd or some time on my elliptical trainer for some mega calories burned. So, I really wanted something to challenge me.
Well, if today is any indication I am going to get that cardio workout using this Wii Gold's Gym Cardio Workout. I've played the rhythm boxing on Wii fit plus and the regular Wii boxing from the Wii Sports game so I thought I was prepared-WRONG. I repeated doing the different basics about 3 times each until I had those moves down and it was a workout just doing that. Then I thought I could handle the unlocked workout levels and decided to take on the Beginner's Warm Up workout. Mind you I had been at this game for over 30 minutes straight and giving it all I had to make it a true workout. I made it through that Beginner's warm up just barely and I was plastered in sweat and exhausted. It felt GREAT! My hubby saw me throwing those punches and started singing the music to Rocky and throwing out one liners from all those movies as I flung sweat, panted for breath and gave that workout my last bit of energy.
So, I am hoping this will be my solution to knocking out this month's plateau. I made sure to stretch afterwards and guess what- I found my motivation to move for the day.
So, if you are looking for something new to have fun and workout out to, I recommend this game. Go to your WALMART and check those bargain bins. Its the best price I've found and I searched in all the GAMESTOP places for used ones with no luck. It sure is FUN.
