Illness is an Option

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Illness is an option? We make the choices, even if we are not aware of it, to be ill by theway we live our life. Our lifestyle choices in food and exercise determine our state of health. Genes can tell us what our potential may be if we live a "normal" lifestyle, but our choice can maximize our health or minimize it.

Eating a whole, live food diet will give your body everything it needs to stay healthy and to repair itself if it becomes injured. Eating a processed food diet will lower our immune response and leave us vulnerable to opportunistic diseases.

Exercise, particularly intelligent weight training will strengthen our bodies and our coordination to prevent, so called, accidents that occur when we stumble but don't have the ability to regain our balance and just collapse on the ground. This inability is not a natural process of aging, it is a result of lack of physical fitness.

Eat and exercise well, live long, and prosper!

Since eating healthy and getting fit, I jump back from illness double as fast as my work mates.. They get all the stomach bugs and influenzes full force- I just get a stomach ache, or a sore throat sleep on it and am peachy again..
I have saved myself alot of money on medications especially pain pills for my spinal injury.. I feel 15 years younger than my true age..

I used to think this also, but I recently read the foreword by Dennis Weaver to "The Hippocrates Diet and Health Program" by Ann Wigmore. He talks about how he and his wife practiced a healthy lifestyle before he became aware of Ann Wigmore and the Hippocrates Institute. After they went through the program, they decided to practice what they learned and followed a Living Food diet from that time forward. Afterwards, they found that they never became sick with even minor colds. This seems to be the experience that Brain R. Clement, the current director of the Hippocrates Health Institute in West Palm Beach, FL talks about in his books talking about the Live Food, exercise, positive mental attitude, and spiritual approach to being healthy.

I think fit, healthy people get common colds similar to those who are not as fit. However, I do agree that when you are feeding your body whole foods and taking care of it, you do feel better.
