It's been a while since I've blogged, and for good reason - I've been busy!
Busy working, working out, playing with kiddos, having breakfast/lunch/dinner/drinks with friends, hiking, biking - you name it, I'm on it. I even went to Disney World!
You might note that running is not on the list. Oh, I'm still doing it, for whatever "it" means - not as long and not as far as I have in the past. I am completely at a loss to explain my lack of performance and loss of what feels like a year of training. Sigh. I can't pinpoint a problem. Had a great 3-mile run at lunch today but 5 miles on Saturday was utter torture.
ANYWAY. BILLALEX70 and I tried hot yoga and while it is definitely a workout, I am not physically capable of dealing with the heat and humidity - one or the other, yes, but hot AND wet isn't something that should be experienced in any group setting. :D However, while oscillating between, "I'm going to be sick" and "I'm going to pass out" I did actually feel like I could "do" yoga and get into the poses okay.
Haven't been doing much Sparking lately, since our work firewall is back up and I've been out of the house 24/7. Food intake has been spotty at best - not sure if it's the heat or what but I can't get my calories in for the day. This means a lot of tweaking of the workouts to accommodate the lack of food - stinks! And while I do try my best to make up those lost calories through alcoholic drinks, that's not doing me any favors (but creating funny pictures for Facebook). I've lost nearly 10 pounds but I look horrible since that entire loss is muscle. :{
As the Spirit of Columbus half is six weeks away, I'd better find my mojo! Going to look for it during my trail run at Highbanks tonight and I'll take it from there. But if you do see that mojo (likely springing along unawares), tell it to get back over here. Muah.
