A Year in Review...(July 2009 to July 2010)

Friday, July 23, 2010

I am grateful for the year since my last birthday that I have been allowed to experience another. My daughter, who had brain surgery in June of 2009, was given a clean bill of health this year. My DGD gave birth to my beautiful Sloan for whom there is much love and such happiness. I retired from my job and had a nice sendoff. I am blessed with a loving and caring family, and, in spite of the neuropathy that attacked my body in late November 2009, I am basicallly in good health and have been blessed unconditionally by my Heavenly Father.

I have made so many special friends here on SP and believe that your love and caring is what helped me make my goal in September 2009. Now, I have gained some of that back, and am struggling to lose it again, but I know with the encouragement and inspiration of all of you here, I will be able to soon lose it.

I have a comfortable roof to live under, a car that takes me where I need to go, food in my freezer, fridge and pantry, and enough income to be independent. I have a loving family who sees that I am well protected and helped with those things I can no longer handle. My dear former co-workers bring me vegetables from their plentiful gardens, and I know if they knew I was ill or in need, they would be there for me.

So there isn't anything more one lady could wish for between birthdays. And I only pray that between this one now passing and the one I hope to enjoy next year, all things will remain the same.

God bless and thank you for being my friends.

    Happy Birthday, one day late.
A wonderful blog of the past year.
Count Your Many Blessings, Name them one by one.
We have so many blessings, things we often take for-granted.
The song "Count Your Blessings" is a blessing to many and I take for-granted
the freedom to sing or hum it whenever I please.
    Enjoy your birthday weekend.

I hope to be just like you when I get to be your age. You are so humble and always honor the Lord. You are a great inspiration to me.

I know you can get those extra pounds back off! I believe in you. You can do it my friend!

I hope you had a most wonderful and happy day and enjoyed your birthday.

God sure blessed ME when He allowed our paths to cross and gave me the gift of your friendship.

    Love and Hugs, Shirley
