20 down way more to go

So I hit the 20 lbs lost mark today. Had a little help yesterday since I was sick, but I consider it a victory. I can't believe I have stayed with this for just over 2 months. I have strayed a little as I went on vacations to the beach, but this is a major accomplishment for me. I never lasted this long when I went on diets. It really has been a life style change.

So far I have mostly concentrated on what I eat, but I know that now I need to start adding the exercising in. I pledge to start a new goal tomorrow (still a little weak today from being sick) to exercise at least 10 minutes every day.

    CONGRATULATIONS! That is a huge accomplishment - not just the 20 pounds, but the consistency over time - I am so proud of you! I love that your new goal is adding 10 minutes of exercise each day - that is a great way to start and I hope you find ways to make it fun and enjoy yourself. You deserve it!

    One day at a time is a good start! You've reached one goal, you know now you can reach many more. I started with little steps; getting off the bus one or two stops early, taking the stairs instead of the escalator at the mall, parking farther away. Small things like that begin to add up!

    You've described me! This is the first time I've lasted so long on a diet. I've been on my diet almost 3 months and have only lost 15 lbs. but with SP I really feel enthusiastic about my diet. With the encouragement you receive from everyone, you realize that you aren't the only one to stray on occasion and that it's not the end of the world if you do.
