The Tee Shirt.....Wow!!! What a surprise!

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

This Sunday is our annual Walk for the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer. The company I work for started the Foundation in honor of our Vice Chairman, Marc Lustgarten, who died from pancreatic cancer. I walk every year with Team Cablevision and raise money for the cure.

Every year we get a Team Cablevision tee shirt. Mine had always been an X-Large. Well, this year I got brave and asked for a Large. Then I asked for a Medium for my 12 year old son who has been doing the walk with me for the past 3 years. He could actually fit in the adult Small, but he is at that age where they like to wear them big and loose.

I brought home the tee shirts today. My son said the medium wasn't big enough. He tried on the large (mine) and said he liked that better. So my plan was to bring back the medium tomorrow and get another large.

But then......

I got REALLY brave and tried on the Medium. YES! The Medium not only fit, but it looks good. I zoomed from an XL right past L to an M!! I did not pass go, I did not collect $200, but I lost 40 pounds and these are the kind of rewards that come with that accomplishment.

I'm wearing the shirt while I'm typing this blog!! And it feels so good!!!

Congrats to you on the 40 lbs!! And I agree with Weezie...who needs $200 when you have that kind of accomplishment. I remember the feeling when I went down 2 sizes and pleased I was. So you have every right to crow!!!! emoticon

Wonderful T-shirt news! There's nothing quite like putting on a piece of clothing and realizing - it's way too big!!!

And you're wearing it in support of such a great cause. A good friend of mine's mother was diagnosed with PC in August 2008 and against all predictions she is still alive and, while she will never be finished with treatment, so far she is winning the battle. In June she attended her GD's high school graduation and her other GD's first communion. So - thanks to foundations like yours, and people like you - there is hope!

Congratulations indeed. Who needs the $200 bucks when you went from XL to M. Enjoy every minutes and what a great accomplishment.
