I believe the original intent of the diagnosis was to describe people who do not actually eat enough, using nutrition as an excuse.

As with any mental diagnosis the line is indistinct. One could easily argue that a fear of heights is perfectly healthy as well, yet vertigo is well established.

Does this mean that my insurance has to cover a gallon of Ben & Jerry's? If I get Bryers all natural, is that good ice-cream, or bad ice-cream? What about apple pie? Or pineapple upside down cake?

I feel a serious headache coming on, maybe I can get my Doctor to prescribe a slice of pepperoni and a beer!

yes, I will continue to eat my fruit and veggies, and also drink my water (are they going to create a mental health disorder for THAT too?). Can we create a mental health disease for those who make up crap like that?

I need to eat healthy to stop all of the voices in my head from arguing with each other.

    That's absolutely rediculous! I'm certain I'd be in a straight-jacket.

Oh well, so be it. I will remain an advocate of healthy whole foods and functional fitness and working daily.
