Love that 10 Minute Rule...

Monday, July 19, 2010

I haven't blogged in a long time, but here goes.

This morning I woke up with an awful headache and was feeling very "slow" (no energy). I made it to work and I didn't feel like doing my workout, but I have a rule. The one Sparkguy recommends - the 10 Minute Rule.

I started my workout determined to get in at least 10 minutes. The more I did, the better I felt. Before I knew it, I had that familiar spring in my step and really enjoying my music! I got a 20 minute workout completed and will hit the pool this evening.

10 minutes - just commit to exercising for 10 minutes and I can just about guarantee that you will do more. And you will feel great!

I love the 10 minute rule and hadn't heard of that. Actually, Jillian Michaels says "you can do anything for 20 minutes." My best guy friend taught me this when I feel like I do not want to exercise: just get dressed in your gym clothes and then decide. It works....once I'm dressed, I'm going to work out (PERIOD). There was only 1 time when I decided I really didn't want to but out of the 100 of times I did...those are great odds. So, tell yourself, I'll just get dressed and only do it for 10 minutes. I love it!

I agree completely! I find if I can push myself to do the first 10 minutes I catch my second wind and am able to finish my workout with no problem.

I hadn't heard that rule either. But good to know. Some days I don't feel like the gym, but I will exercise at home.
I have weights, a pool, resistance bands and a big exercise ball. plus I like to dance to the oldies with Richard Simmons.
What ever works to move it, helps lose it. Smile !! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I had not heard of that rule, but it is one I will now live by! Seems so simple, who can say they don't have time for 10 minutes? emoticon
