After the 5% Challenge

The great thing about Spark People is that you can find a team that supports you and has goals common to yours. This summer I found that with the Sizzling 5% Summer Challenge. For 8 weeks, we worked on losing 5% of our total weight. I finished the goal, and I'm so happy!

I've not gained back any of the weight nor have I lost anymore. During the 2 weeks since the challenge ended, I've been "on vacation," and while this wasn't the best vacation for eating properly, it's not the worst either. My other numbers---glucose, size, etc., have remained consistent as well as the poundage. I've done minimal exercising, but at least I exercised. I'm just going to have to walk more. I actually like walking, so it shouldn't be any big deal to add a few more minutes to the walk.

Now though, I'm in two new 5% challenges. I am in another Spark People team (even though I'm not sure about how that one works yet, but what I've figured out is good), and I'm in one with my friend and my daughter. (ON that one, we want to lose 5% by Labor Day---started in mid June; and we are actually being accountable to each other.)

I like the small challenges like this from Spark People. Challenges similar to these make us accountable. It's a short amount of time, but it adds into our long-time goal. Right now, I really want to drop that weight.
