This morning I stepped on my scale as I do every morning to discover *gasp* I am FINALLY back at my goal weight!!!! :) I first hit goal in November of 2007, but the last time that I actually weighed my goal weight was October of 2008. That was almost 2 years since I was at goal!
What's important, tho, is not that I haven't been at goal, but that I've been hovering within an acceptable range all this time. Since hitting goal, I've gone as high as 15 pounds over and altho that is a lot for this under 5-foot frame, it's a blip on the chart when compared to where I started.
It's still a choice for me everyday to eat on plan or not. Exercise is eluding me. Stresses abound in my life. I have kids, marital issues, a stressful job (even tho summers are "off", they are not....I spent 10 days at a camp with special needs kids recently). I have a million reasons to justify not being on plan and yet here I am...tracking and keeping up with all of you and your blogs - which are SO helpful in keeping me on track as well.
There's no secret. I have sought and found the support I need. I found a plan that works for me. I expect consistency from myself, but not perfection. I love being healthy. I love raising a health-conscious family. It's all good :)
Some of you are maintainers with me....the rest of you are at various stages of your journey. We're all here for the same reason - health. However we get there is according to our needs. So keep at it, keep working hard, searching, living, loving, eating, moving, smiling....healthy is good :) Very good.
