After weeks, months and years of intermittent back pain, my new doctor finally tried something that seems to be working. Anti-inflammatory patches. They're made for patients who have heart surgery, but who cares?
Since I have issues with stomach bleeds, I can't really take a lot of meds, since they immediately cause GI bleeding. These patches carry the stuff without going through the GI tract. There is still a risk of bleeding, but not as quickly.
They last for 12 hours and I'm on the second without issue. More importantly, I slept through the night. I can't remember the last time I woke up feeling refreshed and ready to face the day.
So, I've sent an email to send a script to my pharmacy. she already told me they may not be covered by insurance, but I don't care. Not being in agony is worth just about anything.
I'm having an MRI and x-rays done on Monday and have an appointment with a neurosurgeon in mid-August, but this just might get me there.
What a brilliant idea!
