It's kind of long, but I needed to get a lot out there. Having a rough week... :|

Hi! Don't beat yourself up about cutting your run short--you listened to your body, which is a good thing! Hills are very hard. I usually start changing my breathing (breathe in and out more times) when I'm going up the hill and I try to keep an even pace down the hill to prevent injuries. If 3 min jog/1 min walk routine feels to hard on the hills, try 2:30 jog/ 1:30 walk for a week, and then 3:00 jog/ 1:30 walk (the 30 seconds extra recovery time may really help). One day, this hillwork WILL be easy for you, just don't give up!
You'll do great for your 5k, too. It's great if you finish, but its AWESOME that you're signed-up and going for it, whether you cross the finish line or not. If not this weekend, some day soon.
A 70lb weightloss is amazing, and you are an inspiration for making it happen. Best of luck this weekend for your race! WHOO HOO!

Don't let it get you down... I have done walking running intervals.. and I cannot run a terrible amount... It's hard moving 284 pounds in a run.
I understand... you feel like you are letting yourself down..
You will do what you can do... mental barriers can really do you in.
I wish you the best!!! I saw you beam when you spoke about your daughter. That is your heart and soul... I am proud of you for making the better choices for her!

South Texas! I so understand your pain with the heat in this state. I grew up in far South Texas (South Padre Island/RGV) and I thought the heat was awful, now I think Dallas is worse...too much concrete.
All I have to say about the 5k is you can do it. I wish I remember the quote I put in my video blog from yesterday. I believe if it is along the lines of if you believe it you can do it.
I agree with the mental battle regarding exercise. I struggle with that too.
You are such an inspiration with your weightloss and your goals for a healthy daughter. This was an awesome first video blog. I hope to see you do more!
