Jillian Michaels Detox Water

After watching "Losing It" with Jillian Michaels today, I was surfing the web about her and stumbled across a recipe for her "Detox Water."

1 gallon of spring, mineral or distilled water
4 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons sugar free cranberry juice
2 dandelion root tea bags

It's advised to drink at least 64 ounces of this per day.

I want to detoxify my body. I know drinking water and eating healthy is doing wonders to my body but I still feel the need to flush out. I would never do anything that would replace food but I am interested in trying this in addition to my regular water with lemon.

It surely can't hurt anything, can it?

    I'm with STRINGI719 and Graceful on this one. I think the other stuff is added just to get you to drink it...

however, cranberry juice is said to have some medicinal qualities. I remember a friend being told to drink it when she got a UTI.

And why is it whenever someone mentioned detoxing, I feel all "full" in the bum-region? Have you seen the Dr. Nutura's detox system? (don't go there if you're squeemish) Makes me feel gross inside...

lol ok, enough of that. If you try this water and it makes a difference, let me know and I'll be willing to give it a try!

    What on earth is "sugar-free cranberry juice" and how do they make it? Seriously, cranberries have sugar in them, ya know? Sometimes this "diet" stuff just completely creeps me out. You know, 100 years ago, most people weren't obese and didn't have heart disease, and I think it's because they ate REAL food, not manufactured food.

    It won't really hurt anything but "detoxification" is not a real thing. Did you notice that the recommendation of how much to drink is the same as the "get your 8 glasses of water per day"?? I bet that isn't coincidental.

So I say, if you like the flavor and it isn't too expensive to make, drink all you want.

If you are looking for other calorie-free flavored water options there are a bunch of commercial options. Also look up a recipe called "Sassy water" that is recommended by one of the less-heinous fad diets.

    I would love a link to that page... this sounds interesting... I have cut most chemicals from my diet and I would love to know that I have flushed my system of any that are hanging around...
