I lost 2lbs this week. I am staying with the changes and trying to improve on them. This makes a record 5 straight losses for me....all my life and never 5 weeks of losing in a row! Thanks guys!!!

    I hope you are saving all of these videos, because when you're down to 200 pounds and people hear about how hard you worked and are inspired by it, those videos are going to really help sell your book and movie deal!

    Are you kidding, I compared your video from June 14 to this one and you can totally tell that you're losing weight. You have great cheekbones. My face is where I notice the weight loss 1st and that's where I see your's. Keep plugging away, a slow weight loss is better. Trust me, I'm 52 and so far it's taken me close to 15 months for my 83# and this is the 1st time I've kept going and not given up completely. I've lost weight before (& quite quickly) but it's never stayed off. I'm still learning balance and trying to stay away from my extreme-ism habits so SparkPeople will be a part of my life for some time to come and maybe forever!

Congratulations on your 27 # loss and better health!

You are an amazing inspiration to so many people and I can tell you will accomplish all your goals if you keep your determination going!! Keep focusing on the positives and not on the negatives and you will keep going!! You've already made so much progress in the last few weeks, just imagine what you can do in the next couple months. Take each loss as it comes whether it's 2 lbs or 12, you are still going the right direction. Thanks for inspiring me today with your story and your blogs!

    emoticon on your loss and for being MOD. Two lbs may not seem like much, but you didn't gain all your weight in one day and it won't come off in one day. Think of it in terms of sticks of butter, 2lbs = 8 sticks of butter!! Now that is a considerable amount of fat you just shed!

Keep focus on all the other positive changes you mentioned (shower chair, not out of breath after taking out the garbage, etc.) rather than the scale. The scale might not move, but the body changes. I used to be very scale focused (and very frustrated) and now only weigh in a couple times a month and like that much better even if I don't show a loss.

    Well I have to say, yours is the first video blog I've encountered. Interesting perspective.
I found it when I went to your page to congratulate you for being named motivator of the day. So Congratulations! Enjoy your day in the Spark light!

Regarding your blog ~ use a calendar to document each step/change you notice like the shower chair, not having to crash from taking the trash out. I still remember, but don't remember when it was that I first didn't need a seat belt extender, or my bra wasn't riding up in the back or what really shocked me - I was in the shower and noticed these hard things on either side below my waist! Then it dawned on my, I found my hip bones! Hadn't felt them in I can't remember when. Still don't see them - I'm not that thin, but I can feel them and every so often I check LOL.

All those "little" moments are priceless and oh so motivating!

    emoticon emoticon Great job on the loss. Twenty-seven pounds gone is quite an accomplishment. Don't knock the loss. Make sure to stay positive about what you have done and what you can do now that you are not carrying that weight around. You listed a couple of things, but I bet there are more. They might be little, but little things add up to big things eventually.

As for the rain, better you than me. Iowa doesn't need any more after our second "five hundred year flood" in two years. emoticon

    You have a great point about continuing to lose. It is also important to recognize those little things, especially when you don't have a big loss. The higher energy, being able to do things longer, etc, are other measures.

You can't get hung on a single tool in this. You can have some that are more useful than others, but those few can't do everything.

Even if you cannot notice that you are smaller, your body is changing for the better!! I have to keep reminding myself that too.

    emoticon emoticon Keep it up and it will happen. I know exactly what you were saying about being weak and the shower chair. I had a car accident back in 98 and was in the hospital for 4 days. When I came home and tried to take a shower-I had to use a shower chair too. So, weak that my spouse had to get into the shower with me to help me. I was laid up like that for a good 4 months and it took awhile to get back to my old self again. Physical therapy helped me alot. They had to teach my right leg how to walk all over again. So, again, I know how you feel. Please, keep up dating us even when you move-so I know how you are doing. My husband and I can't wait on Monday's until your video blog comes thru. We watch it together and know how persistence will pay off for you and for me. emoticon

    Tim, I'm so excited for you!! 5 WEEKS IN A ROW!!!! That is great!! It doesn't matter if you lose 1 pound or 10 pounds in a week, if the next week you don't stick with it. On the other hand if you lose 2 pounds this week and stick with the plan week after week after week and just stay consistent, before you know it you will be celebrating 50 pounds lost and soon 100 pounds etc. I'm so proud of you for plugging away at this and not giving up.

    Hi Tim. Congrats on the 2 pounds lost and gone forever! You have only 4 pounds to lose to get to 599, your gonna do it!

It will take a bit to start to see a difference, with me I think I had to lose about 60 pounds for me to get that ah ha moment when looking in the mirror. (yes I am a little slow- lol) Actually now I am thinking about it, I still have a problem when I look in the mirror. I don't see that I lost 115 pounds. It is weird, and I also noticed and others have pointed it out too that I will sometimes do things as if I am still 350 pounds, when I go for walks/hiking and I have to go down a steep hill I pause and attempt the hill as I would have back then, even though I know now I can run down it if I want- thats even weirder. My brain hasn't caught up with my body.

Maybe thats why the docs always say 2 pounds a week is what they want you to lose. It gives your brain a chance to get used to things. Your right on track with that Tim. I am really excited for you cause I know that within a few weeks your going to be in 5-ville! Keep up the good work! Congrats too on your health getting better!

    Good job!

I know the two pounds here and there doesn't seem like much, but it adds up! 27 lbs. is a big difference; it may not be seen but it's there.

Keep the weight loss going! Progress is what it's about, not the speed in which it's accomplished.

Stay consistent and make it happen!
