In a week or so, it will have been 5 years since I discovered Spark. All of the tools here helped me lose 70 pounds once. Unfortunately, due to some health problems, depression and dishonesty with myself about food, I have gained most of it back. I think I lost too much weight too quickly and didn't take the "lifestyle change" to heart. I am a different person today. I have a lot of weight to lose again. I am taking it in small steps. My first goal is 10 lbs by the end of September. If I lose more, awesome - I know I need goals that are reachable to start off with.
After reinjuring my back in April and having to take another 6 weeks off of doing any physical activity (FYI - watch the stairs early in the morning - I certainly pay more attention now!), I am back to exercising. I have gotten back into swimming laps - such great exercise and I love how the water makes me feel! I am trying to walk but after 3 months off, my stamina is nowhere near where it once was. I walked 3 miles with my mom tonight and the last one was definitely slow going. I used to be able to do 5 miles in about 80 minutes. Definitely frustrating but I just have to keep at it! I will get there someday (hopefully sooner rather than later).
As I post this, I am starting Week 3 of my new "lifestyle change". I managed to lose 1.6 pounds in the first 2 weeks - a number I am proud of! I am determined to keep going!
I will find success in this journey!
