It's OK to Acknowledge Your Accomplishments

Friday, July 09, 2010

I don't know about you, but for most of my life I was happy not to be noticed. I guess it came from the taunting because of my size from grade school on ..... Other than recognition for my achievement in my studies, I was happy being in the background. Even so, when I did receive a compliment, I'd discount it saying it wasn't any big deal. I guess I didn't think I was worthy of it.

However, I noticed the other day, my reaction is changing. First, I'm getting compliments on not only my weight loss, but also for the actual changes in my lifestyle that people are seeing. Where before I would discount it, I know smile and say thank you. Sometimes I'll tell them about SP. But in all cases I no longer shy away from the recognition. I am worthy and my hope is that what I've achieved will encourage someone else to make changes in their lives; whatever those changes are.

So my fellow Sparksters, when somebody compliments you on your achievements don't say "oh it's nothing", say thank you and tell them about SP!

Fabulous! I don't know why I discount compliemnts, but I always have. Hate getting gifts too. I feel like Miranda on Sex and the City...the whole "OH JOY" facade! LOL
