It takes a lot to get some things through my head. Today was a case in point. I really thought that justice would prevail in the Oscar Grant trial. It didn't.

Mehserle was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for shooting Oscar Grant in the back. Mehserle is a white cop and Grant was a young black man.

And now there are thousands of people in the streets, sad and angry, trying to make sense of a situation that has repeated itself too many times in this country. You would think in the Bay Area where there is such a melting pot of cultures that we could get beyond the issue of race when it comes to justice....when will it come!?
