Mini Goal for July

I don't write blogs as often, but got into thinking about this as part of the Blue Challenge.
My mini weight loss goal for July is to lose 10 lbs. I know it is not easy, but taking baby steps do really help. There are days when I am not able to get in my planned cardio. Also at this point, my strength training is at a minimal due to frozen shoulder. I have gone thru physical therapy which has not helped and my doctor has recommended that I visit an orthopedic. Inspite of all this, I am doing as much as I can. I try to find ways that help me move a little more during the day like drining water in small sippy cups and walking back and forth to the fountain to fill it up, going out for lunch walk even if I can squeeze only 20 minutes (something is better than nothing).
I am happy about everything I have accomplished since the start of my journey, and still have a long way to go. Making small changes in your food choices also helps. I still eat my desert but keep "modertaion" in mind. I love ice cream, especially with the hot weather we have had over last couple days. Again educating myself on the "portion control" has helped me big time. I mix is some fresh fruit like strawberries or mangoes with a very small portion of ice cream, which tricks my brain into thinking I had half a bowl of ice cream.
And most importantly, it is the great support system we have here at Spark. Participating in challenges and working on completing them really does help. So a big thank you to the wonderful spark team leaders, who are helping us to be a better person. This past Tuesday, when I was watching Losing it with Jillian, and how she was helping improve the nation by helping one family, one person at a time, it reminded me of the great Spark team leaders who mirror exactly what Jillian was doing. Even though they are not a star on TV, they are my SUPER HEROES!!
