No Excuse Summer - Day 4

I've successfully made it to the gym! It was definitely strange at first, though that was all in my head. I half expected the people behind the counter to chastise me for being away for so long, but they didn't. No one gawked. It was like I had been going to the gym all along... even though I haven't been consistently since 2007.

2007. That's just crazy.

But there I was on the Elliptical, grooving to the evening news, 2 days in a row.

I even did weights yesterday! I'm fortunate to have a gym that takes the guesswork out of weight-training, so I did the full body circuit that includes leg presses, abdominal crunches, bicep curls, etc. I was a little concerned about the weights so I kept everything at its lowest setting and did just 2 sets of 10. That was yesterday and I'm happy to report that the cautious route paid off and I wasn't a cripple today! I plan to do the same weight circuit tomorrow before I make any changes to either the number of sets or the amount of weight I'm lifting.

So, 4 days in to my marathon summer:
I've walked about 9.5 miles
I've done 90 minutes on the Elliptical
I've done 11 machines at 2 sets of 10, lowest possible weight

I'm feeling good and ready for more!
