I just read this...I grew up in Alaska and took most vacations in Canada.. The border was only 42 miles up the highway. We celebrated both holidays in out town...there were a lot of Canadians that came down from Whitehorse, Yukon! So it made our Indepedence Day Celebration longer and more fun. Both flags flew!
I loved the youtube song...made me homesick for Haines,AK. I miss the moose, etc.
Thanks for sharing this even though I missed it in July.....It made me smile.
