Finished reading The Spark.

I have finished reading The Spark, and although I understand the reasoning behind the diet and the good that can come of it. I have found that the goal of just losing weight is not enough and I have also set a goal to exercise more. The exercise part is the part I am have problems with. I have never enjoyed exercising and I still do not like it. My husband says I am just lazy and maybe he is right but for me I feel like I am having to change my whole outlook on life, the way I eat and the way it is prepared and on top of all of it I have to exercise too. To me it just feels degrading. According to the book this will change and although I have my doubts I am going to continue with my "STREAK" and go with it. And believe me I have started small, with only 10min. a day. I have begun this week to increase it to 15 min. even though I really still don't like it. Maybe it's like they say...Fake it till you feel it....

    I agree that the exercise is important. I have the book on my kindle/pc but have not finished reading the book. I spend so much time here and trying to finish the books a friend loaned me that I just haven't gotten there. I need to start forcing myself to get the evening exercise in. I have the bike here so I could ride it anytime, but just don't do it.

    I wanted to write to you to let you know you are not alone! Do not feel degraded, we are "older, wiser, and set in our ways." We probably grew up with a loving family, married and had a wonderful family, but now it OUR TIME!!! I hate to exercise as well, but guess what? I found something for ME!!! I am totally committed to 1+ hour every Tuesday and Thursday (presently the only time alloted at the Y) for ME!!! I go to the pool and DO NOT FEEL PRESSURE ON MY JOINTS. It has made wonders for ME!!! I am stressing the "ME" factor, for you to see that you might just find a "ME" for YOU!!!! Find one thing that you are willing to COMMIT TO! DISREGARD EVERYONE, EVERYTHING, THIS IS YOUR TIME!!! Once you start, you just might find that inner "ME too!"

    Don't get discouraged....I am reading the book now and have also started with 10 minutes. The way I look at it is something has to be better than nothing and hopefully it will become enjoyable. You are NOT lazy and neither am I...somethings come easier to some people and some things don't. Keep up the good work!
