So I changed the title of the homepage...

...I needed to add 'why don't I just do it!' I got it figured out, and I always lose weight when I follow it, but I can't seem to keep it going for more than a week or two-UGH! My 'mini' goals are always related to this, journal for more than 3 days, follow a 'plan' for more than one week...Excuses is all it is. I just took a week off, didn't journal or even check the site much, only to catch an interesting article or two, but I'm so mad at myself! And get this, I'm getting sick of fruits and veggies, of which I've always loved!! (my problem is I eat too many desserts in addition to my fruits and veggies ;) What does one do when they find they are sick of healthy foods!?!? I'm just going to leave this post at that. I suppose I could put it out on a message board and see what others have come up with and in the meantime, I'm going to try to get positive again! I know God does not want me obsessing over this, but it's so difficult when it's the one thing in my life that I feel I've never been able to get much of a handle on....

    I totally sympathize with you. It's so tough to keep going longer than a few weeks.

I don't think I can offer better advice than Nelliec, but I'm glad to see that you've found some sort of help. We've all been in your situation (and if someone says they haven't, they're lieing).

But I think you'll make it. Realizing your mistake is a big part of the battle. Admitting it is an even bigger part. Just keep working on the fix stage and I have no doubt you'll reach your goal before you even notice :D

    Thank you Nelliec, your post is very supportive and right on! I believe you hit it head on when you said I need to concentrate on only one thing right now. I think I got overwhelmed by trying to be 'perfect' in all areas and burnt out and frustrated when I lost motivation. This week I'm really trying to just concentrate on exercise because when I don't keep up on that, my entire being goes south! I'm making it a point to walk my dog every day, which she'll love! and 4 days into it, I'm already feeling better! emoticon

    Well, since what the goal is translates into a lifestyle change, then I suppose that you might think of the babysteps in that direction. Too many desserts? Either cut down on the number of desserts or cut the portions smaller. Just concentrate on whatever one thing you decide is most important for your lifestyle change until it is thoroughly a habit. Then on to the next!

As for being sick of healthy foods -- that is a toughie! Are you getting enough variety, so you don't feel you are eating the same thing over and over?

But the thing is, this isn't something that someone else can solve for you other than offering suggestions. This is something you think about and then make a decision that you can live with -- FOREVER. If it can't be lived with, then it is not a lifestyle change.
