Looking over my stats for the month, I see that I underconsume protein. I'm not a vegetarian and will pretty much eat anything that's not moving--too much.
Trying to figure out how to eat more protein without a substantial increase in calories. Looked at vegetarian/vegan recipes. The amount of grain/legumes I'd have to eat per meal to get enough protein is way over my caloric intake.
A lot of the low-calorie, high protein recipes on the site aren't particularly low calorie for me. A 400 calorie salmon dish pretty much means I can't eat anything else with that meal. I try for three 300-400 calorie meals and 1-3 snacks a day. I average 1300-1500 calories (1500 means there is no weight loss and there is possibly weight gain even with exercise).
Trying to eat yogurt daily. I really like Greek yogurt and that seems to be a good breakfast option with 24 grams of protein. Trying to eat meat at every meal but apparently I'm not eating enough of it. Don't like dairy products other than yogurt.
Wondering if I should start taking a protein supplement.
It's amazing how I used to think I ate well when it's just that my eating habits aren't average American. I don't eat bread often, dislike sandwiches and pizza generally, don't eat cheese, milk or a lot of meat. But I eat a lot of white rice (hate brown rice) and not enough protein, calcium or iron.
