The last couple of days I've noticed that my appetite seems to be increasing. I want more food.
Today is day 28 for me since joining Sparkpeople. So far, so good. I'm motivated to eat the right things. I'm motivated to workout. And using the site is fun.
Honestly I haven't been eating my minimum calories. Unless I have a meal out, I rarely make it to the minimums for my size/goals. I know that's not so good. Yesterday I was hungry way before dinner and had a protein bar. Today, lunch just didn't fill me up enough and I had another protein bar. But...my meals have been about the same for the last 4 weeks, so I have to wonder why I'm suddenly so hungry, unsatisfied.
I know there could be several reasons.
1) It could be that time of month - highly unlikely as I'm approaching 53.
2) I tend to eat the same things. That makes it so easy, but my body could be getting bored.
3) My workouts are doing what they're supposed to do. I've been trying to walk 2 miles a day. I'm on week 4 of C25K and on Sunday I started Jillian Michaels 30 day shred.
I really like the third one. Is it possible that my workout efforts are really paying off? Am I really building muscle which is starting to consume some of the excess Me I have here? Do these new-found muscles require more energy?
I weigh in tomorrow morning and I'm due to take my measurements next Tuesday. So the next few days may shed some light here.
