Been a While ...

First, a big thank you to Becky. The reminder I needed to keep on track!

A lot has happened since February ...

So I guess Ill start at the beginning ...

My brother was diagnosed with mealignant melanoma on his ankle. the mole was removed a few weeks ago under general & a skin graft taken from his thigh onto his ankle. The mole was 10mm x 15mm and 3.5mm thick. They removed a couple of lymph nodes from his upper thigh as well which maraculously turned out to be non-cancerous!!! Hes just trying to recover from the great big hole in his ankle now. Still on crutches and will be for a few more weeks I think.

I found a new boyfriend. Everything is aweseom with him ... but ... I had an ectopic pregnancy 3 weeks ago, which has set me back quite a bit. Still with him, after everything :)

But now I have good news nd things are looking up again!

My brother is cancer-free. My other brother from England has confirmed he is visiting (for the first time in 5 years) for 6 weeks at Christmas!

So despite still running around and driving my brother everywhere (he cant drive at the moment ... let alone walk ... ) I am finally able to focus on me again. I got quite ill for a while there, and thats the last thing my family needs right now!

Im back to my 2 Optifast & a meal a day. Working on getting up on the exercise again. Though its hard with the pain in my knees & ankles - any ideas for exercise that doesnt involve stripping down into my swimsuit ?????

    Glad to hear there are some positive things happening in your life and wow 20kg!! You are officially lighter than me! Well done, I'm thinking about setting myself a goal of 20kg by christmas (20wks from now is Dec 4th) and im thinking I can do it if I remember to focus on what goes in my mouth before all else. Exercise I can and do do but eating the right stuff can be very hard.
Do you find yourself starving eating just 2 optifast and a meal?? Just wondering cos for a while I tried having lots of lower calories meals and a big dinner (I just love dinner and it's the hardest meal to monitor calories for) and was considering it again but found myself hungry... you probably drink more water than me though... My biggest problem this last week has been subsituting my normal porridge breakfast with toast!! Way more calories.

    Omg it HAS been a while. Sounds like you've had a hell of a lot to deal with these last few months. I'm so glad you're OK *big hugs* and that your brother is well too! all very scary stuff.

The positive things are great to hear though! yay for the lovely boyfriend and christmas plans. And the status update - is that 5 kg till surgery??? dude you're doing awesome.

I can't think of any workout solutions unfortunately... I have to admit my first thought went to swimming, and I can completely understand your reluctance to do that. Classy76's suggestion sounds good. Richard Simmons is kickarse ;D

    Sorry to hear about you and your brother's recent struggles. I'm glad things are improving and you are starting to focus on you again. You might want to try chair aerobics. That is exercises you do in a chair done to music. Richard Simmons has one called Sit Tight. He might have it available on his website Richardsimmons.com. If it isn't there, you may be able to get it from Amazon. Good luck getting back on track!
