So I've been working my way through C25K with a fair amount of success. By that I mean I'm getting through the workout, but my speed is relatively slow. For example, my week 3 runs are averaging 14 minute miles. Even when I just walk, I find I'm really struggling to walk a 15 minute mile. Honestly, I'm probably walking a 16 minute mile. It's frustrating because I know I used to walk a lot faster. But I'm 52, 53 in the fall, and I guess my body just isn't moving as fast as it used to. Yikes!

I'm not a fan of just working out with weights and so really haven't been doing much with my strength training. I was lured in by Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred. Tried it for the first time last night. Parts were pretty doable, others challenging, but I was glad to get through it. Afterwards I walked 2 miles, my additional cool down. No aches this morning which makes me question if I worked hard at all. My plan is to do day 2 later this evening. Between two days of the shred and my run, I truly question whether my feet will ever see the floor tomorrow morning.....

    A 14 minute mile when you're starting out with C25K is not bad at all! The focus initially is just to get to where you can run for longer periods of time; speed comes later on. You're doing great!

    I think that is great.... I am not a runner, and I am more of a weight workout person. If I was not so short and top heavy, I would love to be able to run. I do enjoy walking but just at a steady pace.
