After thoughts on being a Featured Blog

Nice to see a friend get her blog featured on the weekly daily blog spot:
A week or so I got the unexpected by having mine featured on the weekly daily blog spot. I know I should be happy but instead I felt overwhelmed with the comments as they hit my private ebox. Kinda wish SparkPeople (SP) had a way of making them readable in my private e-box like they do on Facebook. Many would say change my settings for what mail hits my private ebox but it was one of those once in a great while fluke things that I simply waited out while hiding from SP for a week or more. And BOY did I HIDE... *laughing
How did it all come about? I saw someone else post up their pics on 50 lbs loss and thought WOW and felt so inspired by theirs. (I have 85 lbs I want to lose.0 I hit the 25 lbs mark for myself and then saw a pic taken of me unawares when I was hosting a baby shower and was amazed at my own differences at 25 lbs. Just had to share with my friends hoping what one did for me would do for one of them. I never IMAGINED it would hit the weekly daily blog spot and be featured there! (It'll be another couple weeks before I finish reading the comments) Guess it was an inspiration for many from the comments I received and I'm still receiving. *smiles I know deep inside me that its good just that overwhelmness of comments is taking away from it at the moment with so much else on my plate. I know later when I'm blue and hitting a flatline stage they will be a great booster to read.
I will say this.. the phrase.. ' a picture is worth a thousand words' is so VERY true on our weight loss journey or as we loving term it on SP 'lifestyle change'. Pictures along our journey are proof to ourselves that we've changed for the better as well as serve as a reminder to keep going. Pictures also serve as an inspiration to others no matter where they are in their journey that it can be done. Pictures don't have to be fancy or studio taken where you shell out bucks. A simple cell phone pic does wonders in comparison as long as the same viewpoint is shown.
So are you taking pictures of yourself along your journey and posting those visual reminders up? Are you blogging with your before and after pics to help inspire others? Some of us are so visual that pics make all that difference in which path we travel down when we hit a fork in the road so to speak.
Another inspiration is the changes one sees in how one sticks to this lifestyle change. The famous... " You Know You're Making Progress When....." is really something to consider thinking about. Lately I'm able to say no to things yet don't make others feel bad nor am I feeling like I'm missing something by not having it myself. Consider this blog... www.sparkpeople.com/mypa
How would you fill in the sentence?......"I Know I'm Making Progress When....."
For me, " I Know I'm Making Progress When I can say no to ice cream and not feel like I missing a thing nor feeling deprived!!"
Be Inspired, Inspire Others and BE HAPPY WITH YOURSELF.... Hershey
