Okay, I had the courage to open the box last night and I was immediately comforted. She is so concerned about us fools killing ourselves with HIIT before we are ready that she has a "Prep" Schedule for us to work our way up to it. Now does that mean I'm actually going to do the Prep schedule?... Probably not (look I already agreed to do the modifier when I need to; let's not get crazy) but it's nice to know she cares

.
I did the first workout, Fire 30 this morning and it was like Turbo Jam on crack. I have to say the modifier Alee is ADORABLE . Her moves are pretty high energy and even without impact she is BRINGING IT. I only needed her a few times but I certainly didn't feel that I was slacking when I used her.
I learned very quickly that I am going to have to be very mindful of my nutrition while doing this program. I had a very late night last night, woke up late and worked out at 10:30am on an empty stomach. I lasted until the last "fire drill" and then I fizzled. I could barely get through the Stretch 10 Class.
My kit came with the P90X Recovery Drink and whereas I probably wouldn't have purchased it on my own, I'm glad it was there. I took half a serving because a full serving is 220 cals and I'm probably half the size of the people it was designed for. Besides, I only burned a little over 200 cals so I didn't want to negate that with a drink. It was yummy though. I've always done my cardio in a fasted state but I'm going to pay attention to my energy level with these workouts. If I find that I can't keep up then I may drink half a serving of the Recovery drink before and/or during the workout to see if that helps.
During one of Chalene's YouTube videos I heard her almost encouraging us to hybrid with another strength program if we were already using it. I have a few weeks of CE left and I was just going to chuck it but now I may reconsider. I could squeeze them in on my HIIT days

.
Anyway, it was fun, the music was good and I think it's a keeper.
