It's all in how you look at it....

Thursday, June 24, 2010

OK, so I could say "only another pound", or Yeah! Another pound!! The "old" me might have been discouraged that 2 months into this life style change I am still in the 200's, I am not reaching my 2-3lb/ week weight loss goal, I'm probably not going to be at 10% weight loss by my birthday, BUT, what I have learned is that instead of focusing on those things, I will focus on the positive.

I am almost out the 200's.

I am consistently losing a pound a week and the scale is going in the right direction!

I am feeling better, have more energy, am starting to notice my clothes fitting better, and am still motivated to keep going and get this weight off.

So... like I said, it's all in how you look at it, and I'm going to accentuate the positvie.

So what are your postives??

Agreed! With 2 young kids, I am a firm believer in the whole "YAY for small victories" mindset. I praise them for the smallest thing they do right. I am working hard on learning how to do it for myself. It sounds like you are already there, friend, and that is a BIG victory!

This is a poem one of my FB friends got from a Weight Watchers meeting a few months ago.

One Pound of Fat

Hello! Do you know me? If you don't, you should.
I am ONE POUND OF FAT, and I am the happiest pound of FAT that you would ever want to meet!

Want to know why? It's because no one ever wants to lose me! After all, I am only ONE POUND OF FAT. Just ONE POUND. Everyone wants to lose 3 or 5 or 15 pounds, but never ONLY one.

So, I just stick around and happily keep you. Then I am free to add to myself, ever so slyly, so that you never seem to notice...

That is, until I have grown to 10, 20 or even 30 pounds in weight...

YES... it is fun being ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT... left to do just as I please.

So, when you weigh in, go ahead... just keep on saying, "Oh I only lost one pound." (As if that is so terrible.) For you see, if you do this, you will encourage others to hang around me because they will think that I am not worth losing.

And I LOVE being around you... your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips, and every other part of you. HAPPY DAYS! After all, I am ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT!!!

I couldn't agree more. Our attitude really does determine our success.

You're on a roll! That's how I look at it.

I've just started this week...AGAIN, but I am doing it this time!

The scale won't tell us that we're more healthy today then yesterday, but how we feel will let us know! emoticon

Good for you. Those negative thoughts are so counter productive. Stay positive!
