I'm gearing up to do the Peachtree 10K in Atlanta on July 4. This will be the 8th year for me to do this with my family, and with 55,000 of my "closest friends."
It is fun, but it makes for a very long day. I get up at 4:00 am to get the train to go downtown, and usually get back to my family's house in the afternoon.
My running will be slower this year, due to knee problems and having to crosstrain more than run this year. But with the huge crowd and some hills and heat, the course to have a best time. So I will run and enjoy the company.
It has become a family tradition now, and I am looking forward to it very much.
Now the next two weeks I will pay special attention to good nutrition, sleep, and not overtraining.
