Ok....I am a completely different person than I was a few weeks ago.
After feeling absolutely hopeless, listless and depressed, I reached down inside of myself and somehow found what I needed to get back my spark.
I knew if I dedicated myself to doing Sparkpeople, I would get back the "Ashley" everyone knows and loves.
I did not like this person I saw in the mirror. I didn't like the voice that was coming out of my mouth. She was not very pleasant to be around and it was time to get serious or my family was going to disown me!
I woke up on Monday morning, two weeks ago and decided to do what I KNOW works!
I got up, walked for 30 minutes (up and down the hills in my neighborhood). I got in a good sweat and felt great at the end.
I pre-planned all of my meals and snacks and tracked them religiously each day. I had only planned to work out for five of the seven days, but I really started to depend on the feeling I got at the end of my workout. I walked on day six, then on day seven...and now I am on DAY 15!!!!
I have lost a total of FIVE pounds in two weeks and I am beyond excited.
At my daughter's swim team, five people came up to me to ask what my secret was.
I gave them all the details on Sparkpeople and even cleared up a few things for some people who were having a hard time navigating the site. IT can seem overwhelming at first, but eventually you figure it out and then you depend on it for so much!
I am wearing my hair back in a pony tail and not hating the way it looks. My slimmer face looks so much better. My stomach is flatter, I am wearing clothes I haven't worn in a while and I feel pretty again.
During these two weeks, I have figured out a few things:
If I work out everyday, I can have a few "fun" days on the weekends (with in reason). Then I don't spend the Mon/Tues of the next week trying to lose the weight I gained over the weekend.
Ocean Spray makes some WONDERFUL Light Juices. Cranberry Pommegranate, Ruby Red Grapefruit etc. Only 40 calories (versus 130 or more for the sugar variety) and you can add a little vodka for a nice cocktail (Fri or Sat only for me).
Cherries will do a number on your digestive system. Wow! That was like an accidental cleanse!
