First things first, I've been a little MIA lately. Had some "reorganization" going on at work and, honestly, VERY glad I still have a job. However, not only are my hubby and I working for the same company...now we are working in the same department. Yikes! Talk about 24/7 interaction. I do think we work great together. In college, we took some of the same classes due to the same major. Some professors tried to split us up during group work or presentations. They knew we'd be too powerful together..haha. We've been working for the same company for 2 1/2 years and have done well. But sometimes we both feel like we see each other maybe a tad bit too much. He is my best friend, and has been for almost 12 years!! We've been doing everything together, but every healthy relationship needs some away time from each other. So gym and salsa lessons have been my "away" time :-) He's got his soccer, btw.
Anyhow, now that I have a new boss, I won't be able to head to the gym every day and definitely not for too long. Lunch workouts were great for me. I work full time and have a 2 1/2 year old son, so not too much free time for me, plus it's a great way to break up the day. Now, I have to be more creative with my workouts. I still want to get a workout in at least 5 times a week....no matter how short or how many calories burnt. Every workout counts! Though I might not have a plan in place yet, here are my ways to get a workout in:
- Gym at lunch 2-3 times a week for 30 minutes
- Run outside at lunch if weather is good--30 minutes
- Run at home option 1: if I get up before 5:30AM and am not dragging too much
- Run at home option 2: after work, before or after dinner depending on what need to get done
- Pilates: 20 minutes 2X week
- Salsa lessons: 2 classes, 80 minutes total
- Zumba: 1-2 times a week
- Crunches and Push-Ups: 2-3 times a week
There! Now I just need to hang them on my fridge or at work so that I have a reminder.
In a way, this is a good way to shuffle up my workout routine....it needed it anyway. What I'm excited about is doing mixing in AM, Lunchtime, and PM workouts.
I'm running a 10K in 2 weeks, so I need to be in good shape! :-)
