Father's Day

Sunday, June 20, 2010

I truly enjoyed being with my Dad today honoring his special day. I live 5 hours away from my parents and they always appreciate my "trips" home to visit with them. My parents are both in their 70's, and I cherish each day that I can still spend with them. We have been through much throughout the years, and we have an even closer relationship the older we get. With age, we certainly appreciate our parents much more than when we were younger. It is hard for me to see my parents age. Some days, it makes me very sad. I hope that is normal. I don't ever want to lose my parents but I know that I am luckier than most to still have them with me. So I try to get home as often as I can. You never know what tomorrow brings. I hear about some families and how they don't get along with each other. I can't imagine that.......Life is too short. And no matter what has happened, I still think you have to forgive and go on. Today was a great day, and I hope there are many more to come. emoticon
