My daughter is currently dating a young man that works for the United States Forest Service on a Hotshot fire fighting crew. His name is David Silva and he is a very special young man.


My daughter is of course a big "fan" of fire fighters now.....

but she seems to be a lot cleaner and more energetic than David is in this picture...
.
Currently, David got called to this fire in Arizona. It is in rugged country, which he is used to because he also is a hunting guide in Reserve, New Mexico.


Lots of smoke and we are really drying up down in this part of the world.

Forest fires are hard and dangerous to fight. The fires do help the forest repair and regrow. For most of us, the smoke can be an inconvenience but some parts of fires....smoke in the skies make for some beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
