I finally made the absolute decision to do a 1/2 marathon. It will be October 17, which gives me plenty of time to get ready. I'm following this schedule: www.halhigdon.com/halfma
So far, I am running a consistent 3 miles about 3-4 times a week. Some days I run more, rarely do I run less. I'm still slow (13 - 14 mm; I tend to run faster outside than on TM), but I can run without feeling like I'm going to die and without being sore the next day.
For cross training, I've been doing zumba, but I think I may start to swim, or a combo of both. I've been ST'ing 2-3x a week, and I will start going to just 2x.
It's nice to finally see some progress. I'm clearly more fit, I see a little muscle somewhere under that *padding*, my clothes fit better, and I've lost a few pounds (not much).
All in all, I feel good about myself and this plan.
