A Vision That Will Last a Lifetime (hopefully)

Saturday, June 19, 2010

I took my before picture yesterday. Yep, that was a vision I could have lived without. However, as much as I really didn't like what I saw, it was a good exercise - NO MORE DENIAL NOW!

It's actually motived me even more. I am more determined than ever to lose this weight, once and for all. As much as I didn't want to get up and exercise today, I got up and did my exercise. As much as I wanted to have our standard Saturday morning pancakes or french toast with loads of butter and syrup, I didn't. I just had my protein shake while hubby had his french toast.

Tomorrow is Fathers Day and we're supposed to go out to the valley and have brunch with the in-laws and as much as I love my Papa Jack and love spending time with them, I know there is going to be a lot of fattening food. I also know I'm not going to have very many healthy choices available to me either.

I'm going to do the best I can and hopefully, one meal isn't going to sabatoge my whole diet. Monday morning I will be back to work on my diet and health goals. Special occasions happen and we need to make allowances for them. When it comes to spending time with family or avoiding them because of diet restrictions, my family will win out, every time.

DANYAL_REBORN - thx for the compliment; it was nice of you. I have a tendency to get a little verbose when I blog but am really trying to be more simple and to the point.

Yvonne - Going to do my best about keeping my portions small and keeping dessert down to just a few bites of the sweets. But I do plan to have a good time with my family.

Thx for stopping by folks; I really appreciate it.

Two steps forward, one step back still leaves you ahead of the game.

Just do your best to stay on track tomorrow...stay away from fried foods, fats, large portions. Keeping your weight goal in mind will help motivate you to make wise choices. I'm sure you'll survive without (too much) damage.

Enjoy the family day.

Yvonne

Thx for the support and encouragement; I really apreciate it. I know that there's going to be days that will challenge me and some days I'm not going to make the best choices for me or my diet.

Congratulations on getting started. You can do this. Compared with others, you don't have a whole bunch of weight to lose. Take inspiration from them. I have read amazing stories of men and women on SP who have lost more than 100 pounds and are still going. You will succeed and soon the healthy choices you make will taste a lot better than the junk you pass on. GOOD LUCK and go go go.

I do not think one meal won't kill your efforts if overall you make healthy choices for the week. Go and enjoy your family tomorrow. If the food choices are all unhealthy, just have small servings of things you love the most or things you don't get to have often. You'll be fine!

PS: love the outfit in your pics! I envy those who can wear that green so well!
