Day 83 Fat Loss Diary...

Woke up feeling better but really tired I thought from my head cold, so I did a 40 minute workout by The Firm Calorie Killer I had to do the beginner level I was so tired but I managed to work up an awesome sweat so that was great and the music is always so great on the firm. I ate really healthy today. I went to my daughters to babysit and decided to watch t.v. I decided on Dr.Oz which I am s o glad I did he asked the audience if after a full nights rest if they felt really tired through out the day and I am sitting there watching the t.v. nodding my head yes he then proceeded to tell the audience that they could be low of iron and to tell this he said to flip up your bottom eye lid so you could see the color of the inside of the eye lid and if it was pale you were low on iron bright red your healthy so I went to look in a mirror flipped down my bottom eyelid and it was WHITE!! That is why I have been feeling so groggie and tired these past few years I thought it was just me getting old and lazy. So you know what the cure was that he gave the audience? Cooking on cast iron he said it was better then taking iron meds and it worked really great, so I came home today from my daughters and took out my old cast iron pan made potatoes and chicken with it with a little olive oil and ate, I felt better would you believe within 20 minutes of this meal told my hubbie and he chuckled at me in disbelief, and I said no way its true come look at my eye (because I had showed him how white it was) because it already had red running through it, it had started to work that fast it was awesome and I felt better. That Dr.Oz is emoticon So all in all I had a very great and knowledgeable day. emoticon

very interesting! I was on iron supplements as a kid and have had my dr. check my iron levels, probably most every year for my physicals because I'm tired all the time. I have even wondered about Chronic Fatigue. I'm going to go look at my eyes!

I have been on very high iron pills prescribed by my doc. for about 4 years. I was borderline anemic. They are really hard on your stomach though. I knew about cooking with cast iron for years. Lately I have been eating a can of mussels every week and it helps alot for iron. Just don't look at them too closely while you eat them - lol

WOW. I wish it were that easy for me. I struggle with iron and a couple years ago, I had to have 8 iron infustions. I am heading that direction again as we are seeing the signs. But I never knew to check my eyelids, so guess what I am going to do. I love to donate blood and I kept getting outsted because my iron was low, but it wasn't until they found out why I kept breaking out in sores and hives that I was sent to a hematologist and discovered my iron had totally bottomed out. Our bodies are amazing things. Hope you gain a lot of energy.
