Bad Storm..

Friday, June 18, 2010

I was sitting on my computer checking email when a storm came up. The tornado siren went off and the wind was really bad. It was really dark, green, and the trees looked like they were going to fall. It was a bit scary and I wondered if I should have been sitting in the basement. But, as soon as it came, it seemed to leave... with just about a 15 minute rain storm after the initial scare.

Sitting here, watching, thinking... it made me think of the storms of life. How things happen, and they seem to be so hard, devastating at times, scary, etc... we worry... we fret... Some storms are longer, some are shorter... but we have a loving Father who watches over us, who loves us, and who will never let anything more than we can handle come into our lives. I am so grateful for the promises of God and for His continue protection, love, grace, mercy, sweetness, light, encouragement, hope, and all that comes with being a child of the King of Kings!! May we all rest in Him, trust in Him, love Him, and keep our eyes on Him - no matter what storms come our way!

Loved this blog, such wonderful thoughts. We had the storm last night and it's beautiful and peaceful out this morning. I'm making my coffee and going to sit on my front porch and read my Bible.

I'm glad you are safe--it can be very scary. That's one of the things about Indiana that I do not miss. As a kid I used to dread that tornado siren and having to go hide in the basement.
But I love the message you received from it and couldn't agree more.

We were also watching as the 1st and only massive gust of wind hit. Trees were tipped to the ground but none uprooted or broken. God spared us the heart break of so many others. My heart & prayers go out to all that lost loved ones and homes.
