My Food Log for Today

Thursday, June 17, 2010

Anyways, Debbie this is for you. It takes a little discipline and a willingness to eat healthy. I figured it might be fun to do a food log for the day. The Video editing part is a pain in the Butt though!

I hear many say it cost lots of money to eat healthy, and they resort to fast food or processed food. I'm cheap, so i look for stuff that is healthy but doesn't cost you a arm and a leg either.

The Video is kinda long, so i apologize. I wanted to give debbie some ideas, to help her with her nutrition.

Sumi, Love this vlog! I have been fighting cravings the past few weeks and this is just what I needed to get focused again! I love all the things you cooked. Today I made the oatmeal with water and had 2 hard boiled egg whites on the side. I forgot how filling it was. Quinoa is a great choice of grain its loaded with protein! I think this is what they call a complete protein. I have defiantly needed to get in more veggies this is a great cheap idea thanks! emoticon

Lots of helpful points, Sumi! Goes to show that eating healthy doesn't have to be expensive or time consuming. emoticon

As for peanut butter, Debbie. I add it to my oatmeal to make it more palatable and it tastes like warm comfort food. PB is a good addition to other foods, but unto itself, not so much. It's just not very filling on it's own.

Sumi, you are so sweet to take the time to show me how to eat healthier:) Oatmeal is ok, don't know if I can eat it every day though. I am going to change. Your food log is very motivating. Only thing is, I don't like spicy food.. I hate peas and carrots, lol. I do love corn, and some other veggies.Tuna is not my favorite, I will eat it probably once a week. I also need Lactaid, since I am allergic to regular milk. I will need to make more time to cook for myself. I promise to keep improving my nutrition. I will also continue to watch your food logs as a good guide. You are lucky to have a garden:) So, can I have my peanut butter once or twice a week? I'm afraid to admit that I did over eat tonight. You can do a video food blog for me anytime...thanks my true friend! emoticon

Hey don't knock the PB! PB is good for you in moderation with other stuff!! Especially if its organic without all the extra gunk oil.

Go fat free milk! Almond milk is yummy too (good nut fats). Nice, I typed that before you brought it out!! Great minds alike! Sweeten oatmeal with fruit too! Blueberries!! Strawberries!! Go protein powder!! Soy!! (bleh whey!) Wow, was that 2 scoops? You eat a lot of protein!! Good for making smoothies and juices for saving for later as well. Mixing in yogurt instead of milk will give you protein and probiotics. Omigod I miss my george foreman grill. Made it sooo quick and good for grilling fish too!

I think emphasis here is finding the time to actually make the food and prepare.

In editing you can fast forward and keep voice up to speed too might help for these really long vlogs. Love it though! :)

Hey Sumi- here's my challenge for you! Don't use so much plastic of zip locks! :P

Great video blog Sumi! I love quinoa (keen-wah), you almost had the pronunciation right :) I had to look it up when I first bought it. I love how you kept everything so simple. I use alot of spices, Mrs. Dash Southwest Chipotle is my favorite.
