Today was our day for the Go10Walk (fundraiser for missions). There were three legs each 10 miles long with 4-5 participants walking each leg. My husband and I along with two other of our church walked the first leg. We got up bright and early at 5 a.m. to get ready and be at the appointed "get-together" site by 6:30. As always, there were delays, the major being a truck overturned a mile just before our starting point. Thankfully, the driver was fine and we got to our starting pointing and was only 20 minutes late getting started.
Let me say, this was the first time for my husband and I to walk this distance. Also, we had hills, yes hills not just minor inclines. But we pushed through and made it. My average was a 17 minute mile. Am I happy, you better believe it! With all the hills, I'm ecstatic! The organizing group allowed for a 24 minute mile average so we beat that.
Now the outside of my thighs are definitely making it known they were used more than usual. But, it was a great walk for an even greater cause.
