Summer Renewal...

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

I was just going through the motions.

I still came here everyday (almost). I still kept an eye on my calories (almost). I still went to the gym with regularity (almost).

Are you beginning to see a pattern here? The difference between going through the motions and going ALL OUT is razor thin. I am finding that out first-hand.

So today, I hope to rededicate myself to doing the things the right way.

I agree with Mary. Starting over is the first step. I'm doing that also. The best thing is that you ARE starting over and didn't give up. emoticon

Good for you! Making the decision to "start over" is the first step. I have found, after 2 1/2 yrs, that IF you make Sparkpeople an essential part of your day, you CAN succeed! The end of Feb, I decided to give up "sweets"...my nemesis, for 6 weeks. That was hard at first, but fruits and veggies replaced them and the pounds started leaving. I enjoyed chocolate for Easter like a wild child, but the next day, I was back to no sweets. Just had a "sweets" weekend on a family reunion weekend a couple weeks ago and came home down .5lb. Can't beat that with a stick. I will treat myself again when my grandkids visit the end of July. So, track your foods, read the articles, get your Sparkpoints daily, tell people about SP, do your runs and keep blogging. Maybe your daughter will see your enthusiasm and join you and start seeing results herself. What do you have to lose but lbs!! emoticon emoticon emoticon
