emotions and eating

Ive noticed a definite trend in that i over eat when ever there is something wrong with my emotions... by that i mean unhappy sad, etc. But recently i have decided to do something about it. Its not any good to exercise and stick to a sensible diet over the week and then during the course of two days throw it all away binge eating. I have a number of strategies to cope now and so far they seem to be working. They include
1. Pray
2.Meditate
3. Exercise even when i dont feel like it, i always feel so much better afterward.
4. Dont stock anything that may lead to temptation and
5. Indulge yourself once in a while

Im proud to say i just had a piece of chocolate as opposed to eating the whole large bar and guzzling down soda... and i actually savored the taste too... Yey me!!!

    I agree with you. I too find myself in that same place. Whether or not we want to admit it, we all eat for emotional comfort.

    emoticon on eating just the one piece of chocolate. I have found the darker and richer the chocolate, the more satisfying it is. I have even begun to make my hot cocoa with 72% or higher dark chocolate. It has an amazing flavor! If you'd like the recipe, send me a note and I'll be happy to give it to you.

    Congrats!!!! I think that is where our biggest battles lie...in emotional eating...I am still trying to win that battle myself .....keep sparking!
