Weight Loss and Random Thoughts

Since mid-May, I've been on a Spark Team that is trying to lose 5% of their weight by July 3. I was hesitant in joining this team, which then divided into smaller teams. I wasn't sure I would remain a part of the team, especially since the first week of the challenge, I was diagnosed with some serious medical issues. But after talking with the leaders, I remained.

It was a wonderful decision for me! In the four to five weeks that we've been working on this challenge, I've lost slightly more than 7 lbs. Yes, I can tell the difference. I don't feel bloated. I am not as hungry, nor do I eat impulsively. I've had to cut some exercising, pending my doctor's recommendations, but I am now able to add some, beginning today. I'm happy I can!

I had surgery on Monday. My college roommate, a wonderful friend for 40 years, stayed with me this week. My daughter came in for the weekend. The three of us have our 5% challenge now. We will lose 5%, or 10 lbs minimum, by Labor Day. We officially weighed in today, telling each other our weights. (Now that's trust! Telling another woman exactly how much you weigh!)

We will check in weekly, thanks to email. We will encourage each other. And hopefully, by Labor Day, we will have met, or be close to meeting that 5% challenge, and have the POUNDS OFF for good!
