Songs in the Night

Saturday, June 12, 2010

God gives songs in the night (Job 35:10). Whatever may be the circumstances of your night, your disappointment, your trial, we can turn to God who gives songs in the night. "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning" (Psalm 30:5). As long as we continue to look up to Him, we will find the strength to overcome. "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth" (Psalm 121:1-2).

Almost six months have passed, since I started SP. My progress is much more than I thought was possible--25 pounds lost. That was my weight thirty years ago! I've gotten so many compliments. Things were going well, but now I've reached a learning plateau where things seem to be at a standstill, motivation is waning, it is an effort to log-in meals.

If I hold on, I know my change will come. Lord, don't move that mountain; just give me the grace to climb it!

1Samuel 30 tells us when David and his men came to Ziklag they found it destroyed by fire and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters had been taken captive by their enemy. David and the people lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more strength to weep. David's 2 wives had been taken captive also. To add to his distress his men were talking of stoning him because they too were in pain because of their families being taken. But David had to be strong in the sight of his men even though they wanted to kill him. They were acting out of pain. They were hurting and they wanted somebody to pay for their pain. Instead of getting angry with those men, the Bible says that David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. He found strength in the Lord. Enough strength to inquire of the Lord what to do next. Be encouraged my friend. God has led you this far and He will continue to lead you even farther on your journey. Encourage yourself in the Lord.
Isa. 40:31 says 'But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint.' Be Blessed.

Don't give up. God has seen you through the loss of the 25 pounds. You are right. God's grace is sufficient. I love
Phil. 4;13--I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
You are doing great! You can do it!
