I had a lovely visit with my parents this week, though I am glad to be home. Save breakfast, we ate out twice a day; my parents just love restaurant eating. The servers all know them, which was kind of fun; and we actually did a fairly decent job of eating healthy throughout the week. Still, I ate more than I normally would, I know. And I did splurge and have eggplant parmesan one night -- yes, it was fried. The worst part was that the only times we were actually moving was the morning we visited a large garden (will post pics later - stunning roses and butterfly garden) and of course when we went shopping. My mom and I have to get in at least one shopping trip when I visit! Not exactly calorie-burning, aerobic walking, but something at least. I just couldn't entice either of them to take a real walk with me. So much sitting, and more TV than I am used to. But I know it meant a lot for me to spend the week with them, and I am so thankful to have them. This week coming up will be much more focused. One week of "vacation" will not undo my healthy habits!
Pictures of my garden walk in an upcoming blog. It's good to be home!
