Do you ever get lost in the crowd

Thursday, June 10, 2010

Sometimes when there is lots of people doing something as a group or congregate in large groups one tends to get lost in the crowd. Unless you really want this to happen you should make an effort to be an individual and do your own thing. This is especially true for those of us wanting to lose weight. We must individually set our goals and sights outside of what others are doing. A workout buddy can be an inspiration but you should not base your progress on what they are doing or what their goals are. You can encourge each other to succed but it's up to you do actually achieve your goals. When others tend to give up, keep going and the goals will follow. emoticon

Yeah, I hear you. Workout buddies can be an encouragement or a nemesis. I remember when me and my mom alternated between egging each other on and leading each other to temptation. When one of us wanted to eat something bad or slack off on workouts, we'd try to get the other one to come along so we wouldn't feel guilty. Not too cool.
You're right, Someone has to be strong and independent and it's up to each of us to be that someone if our partner isn't willing. We might even have to do without a partner if they don't come around. It's worth it though, cause ultimately we're doing it for ourselves.

I think you are a very practical person and you probably tell it like it is! I like that.
