I've been trying to think of fabulous things to say in my blogs. I am so inspired by some of the other members - TeenyBikini, for one. But I just can't seem to write like she can, so I'm just going to try to write something everyday.
I have a friend here in Maine, named Martha. She and I graduated from high school in NJ back in 1963! We have another friend here from our home town in NJ but she is 10 years older than us. We all live at least an hour away from each other, so try to get together once a month. Polly (the other one from NJ) is always wanting to DO things, mostly touristy type things that Martha and I have gotten over years ago. However, I suggested to Martha that we meet on Friday and I will take them on a tour - we'll go to Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, then drive around that peninsula and look at the lobster shacks, small fishing villages and putter around, in and out of antiques stores. We'll have lunch at the Anchor Inn in New Harbor.
Well. When I called Martha she was so excited to go. She said I made her day! Then I called Polly and she was thrilled, said she was bored to tears and that I had made her day! Imagine making two people's days in the space of 10 minutes! I was happy, and they made MY day. So I headed off to the Y and my water aerobics class. I was smiling all day because I had made my two friends happy.
Funny thing. Yesterday I got my hair cut and on a whim let Lana, my friend and stylist, dye my eyebrows which are mostly bleached white by age and the sun. Well. I look like Bert of Bert & Ernie on Sesame Street. DARK! So this afternoon, after the Y, I went and got some Peroxide and put it on and sat in the sun, trying to lighten my brows. Jeesh! Here I am, 65 years young, and still worrying about how I look!.
Tonight Rob (my husband) and I went out to dinner at a new Italian restaurant. On the way home we stopped at The Big Dipper ice cream stand because it's Wednesday and in the summer on Weds. there is a car show. It was fun looking at all the muscle cars from the 60s. Funny, the cars look older, but I SURE DON'T AND I SURE DON'T FEEL IT! I feel like I am in the best years of my liffe.. Having fun at the Y, making friends there and here on SparkPeople, and actually exercising and losing weight.
Life is Good!
